The 45-year-old created a giant floating sculpture in a lake in Seoul, designed a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, and has produced pieces that have sold for over $1 million. KAWS made his first screenprints in the late 1990s and has since continued to maintain a printmaking practice alongside his production of paintings, sculpture, and editioned objects (both real and virtual).

Whether you're animating logos or illustrations, the tools are all there to create basic but effective animations in a single light SVG file. While it’s generally easier to learn Photoshop before Illustrator, which you chose to learn first really depends on the type of graphic design you’re doing. If your design work is primarily vector illustration, Illustrator will be better to learn first. If most of your graphic design focuses around raster images and editing, then definitely learn Photoshop first.

Although Krita allows you to create beautiful illustrations, it can occasionally be a little slow, which we think might be irritating at times. Corel Vector is a must-have tool for any designer if you want to be at the forefront of your industry or make an impact in your field. The extra features in Canva Pro make it worth buying, in our opinion, and Canva even offers a free trial if you want to try it!

The HubSpot Customer Platform

Linearity is a favorite among designers who prioritize clean, scalable vector artwork. Picmonkey is perfect for creating all online graphics types, ranging from social media advertisement images to YouTube thumbnails. Plus, Picmonkey also has its own photo editing software built into it, so you can learn how to edit and later start using Adobe Lightroom. Programs for graphic designers are powerful tools that allow you to create and edit digital images. They’re used by all kinds of people, including marketers, bloggers, artists, and of course, graphic designers. Once a rival to Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW is still considered one of the best full-featured graphic design editors.

Best Free AI Image Creator: Microsoft Copilot

Given that Sketchbook is available on Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS, this platform is perfect for drawing whenever you get a surge of creativity. Gravit Designer’s interface is perfect for beginners, while its feature set is excellent for professionals. There are also plenty of guides you can find to learn how to make the most out of the platform. It also provides advanced vector path manipulation features, like the Bezigon tool, which allows you to draw perfect curves. Other handy features include a pen tool, advanced border controls, non-destructive object styling, etc.

Best Graphic Design Software for Beginners

While VectorStyle can do a lot, it doesn't have the pixel tools that you get with Affinity and Photoshop. There's also no iPad app, a big advantage of Illustrator and Affinity Designer for graphic designers who work on the go or with a stylus. We found that Sketch makes it easy to get started, with less of a learning curve than those of more fully featured vector design software. It offers a good range of features if you need them, though, thanks to a big library of plugins. The software came in for a major revamp in 2021, with the addition of better collaboration features.

Customer Support

Whether you are a graphic designer or a concept artist, Eagle can help in collecting images and organizing your digital assets including cases, inspirations, video clips, etc in a streamlined way. Creating your design library is no longer time-consuming and tedious, as Eagle solves this task with efficiency and style. Any file format can be imported and organized with Eagle, so there is no need to manage your project files in a separate organizer.

A must-have for any designer who works in print, Adobe InDesign rounds out the holy trinity of Adobe professional graphic design programs.

Plus, there's also the ability to work offline, advanced export options, and version history, all available for a reasonable yearly subscription. Use the left-hand sidebar to find the assets you want - from illustrations to stock photos and videos, or upload your own media. Brand-conscious organizations may want to opt for the Canva Pro subscription, which unlocks the Brand Kit, ensuring design consistency across all creations. Outside of these apps, your options are to pay a recurring subscription or a one-time fee, though some apps only offer one option. Humans have a natural tendency to seek out less expensive options, and as UI/UX designers, we would naturally be curious to see if there are any Adobe XD substitutes.

Canva shines in that it can work with a broad range of industries, thanks to its huge template gallery. The sampling we viewed was professional-looking and offered excellent starting points for brainstorming. There are three pricing plans, including a free one for individuals and small teams.

As the name suggests, this app provides an infinite canvas where you can zoom, pan, or rotate. Adobe Photoshop is arguably the most popular graphic design software and is used by millions of artists around the world. Whether you are looking to create banners, posters, websites, or logos, this best graphic design software can do it all for you. From small edits to sophisticated designs, Adobe Photoshop has tools for every level.

But if all you need is a set of drawing tools, without a bunch of design-related extras, Procreate's probably the best graphic design software for you. Procreate has a great reputation within the artist community, and for good reason. It offers lots of beautiful brushes and helpful tools, such as QuickShape, which give you perfect shapes every time, and StreamLine, for turning your rough strokes into smooth curves. SVG-Edit is the best free graphic design software for quick vector jobs. The open-source browser-based app lets you edit and create SVG files using a standard vector toolset. There's nothing to download, as the software works straight in your web browser in an intuitive, if retro-looking interface.

It allows everyone to contribute and share feedback in real-time and asynchronously. The software suite includes thousands of quick how-tos, tutorials, and beautiful templates to make flyers, social posts, and stories. The main downside of Affinity Designer 2 is its inability to save projects in Adobe Illustrator's AI file format which is incredibly common in the graphic design industry. Finished files can be exported as PNG and a host of other file types, though, so this is only an issue if collaborating with someone who requires AI files.

Compared to Adobe’s tools, GIMP is lightweight and resource-efficient. Initially designed for photo manipulation, GIMP excels with RGB or raster graphics but lacks native CMYK support, making it less suitable for print designs. When you’ve finished designing a project and you want to present it to others, you need the best printing features. For printed articles, you should set up your page to “bleed” so that the creases of your magazine appear continuous and colored. Overall, most of the programs performed similarly, but some outshone the rest.

Let's buzz through these styles and see how each one can make your brand stand out. Dragonfly logo design is not just a trend; it's a creative journey into the heart of your brand's identity. In this article, we're going to dive into some of the best dragonfly logo design ideas that are buzzing in the industry.

Beautiful Dragonfly Tattoo Designs & Meanings

Another important thing to note is that the placement of 3D tattoos can make or break the realism of the tattoo. If you’re going for the hyper-realistic ‘dragonfly perching on your skin’ look, consider where it would make the most sense and look most convincing. A dragonfly tattoo design can be done virtually anywhere on the body – even in areas as small as the side of the finger or the earlobe. In tattoo art, dragonflies are also commonly used as a reference to living in the moment. Though vibrant and quick enough to be considered a symbol of invincibility in some cultures, dragonflies have very short lives. Second only to butterflies in terms of popularity as far as insect-themed tattoos go, dragonflies make for interesting, vibrant, and eye-catching designs.

It's about experimenting with colors, shapes, and ideas until you find that perfect design that feels just right. Remember, your logo is a visual storyteller for your brand, so make sure it tells an enchanting tale. Dragonflies come in a myriad of colors, but when it comes to logos, less is often more. Soft blues and greens can evoke a sense of calm and reliability, while vibrant hues like red or purple can convey creativity and energy. Whether you're a startup looking to make your mark or an established company seeking a fresh rebranding, these dragonfly logo designs will offer inspiration and excitement.

An abstract dragonfly logo can be a conversation starter and a memorable emblem of your brand's artistic vision. The iridescent blues and greens mirrored in its wings are not just captivating but also symbolize serenity and growth. Using these colors in your dragonfly logo design can evoke feelings of calmness, reliability, and a connection with nature. They're perfect for brands aiming to portray trustworthiness and an eco-friendly ethos.

Ever watched a dragonfly hover over a water body, calm and poised? They epitomize the ability to remain graceful under pressure, a quality any business would want to resonate with. Using a dragonfly in your logo design can convey a sense of calmness and poise, assuring clients that your brand can handle challenges with elegance and grace. The dragonfly goes through a fascinating transformation in its lifetime, emerging from water to air as a creature of flight. This metamorphosis is a powerful symbol of self-realization and maturity.

Design-focused magazines and books often showcase high-quality work that has stood the test of time. They can provide a deeper dive into branding concepts, with detailed analyses and behind-the-scenes looks at the design process. Print resources are particularly useful for understanding the tactile elements of branding, such as paper stock, printing techniques, and finishing touches that can elevate a brand's identity.

They are a central part of branding and marketing; thus, users often ask designers to implement outdoor adverts and banners ideas. Moreover, before designers commence working on a visible part, it’s essential that they need to recognize the character that the company or product wants to showcase. Designing a brand without this clarity does not give life to the design. The font is a vital part of the design, but it is not well executed in most cases. You might create a magnificent design with better imagery and other graphic elements.

Branding design is extremely personal and very direct, bringing corporate values to life in a tangible way. Branding design boosts revenue and top-line growth, and has the potential to make or break a company’s long term profitability. Consider the mood, readability, formality, and adaptability of typefaces to pick the right one. Then decide whether you’ll create your typographic hierarchy with a single typeface or if you’ll combine two or more fonts.

When he first started he was scared to be left. The staff showed him such patience that he now trots in with his tail wagging. He gets excited when he sees staff members and gives them lots of love. I cannot praise this staff enough for how much they have helped my dog gain confidence and for all the kind treatment they have shown him. There have been several negative remarks concerning Animal House over the past few weeks. It is my understanding 2 of the occurrence were due to pre-existing health issues and nothing related to neglect or conduct of the staff at Animal House.

We appreciate the kind words and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience!

Jacksonville's Best Pet Boarding & Dog Care

We have been part of the Animal House family for many years. We have used all of their services, boarding, daycare and grooming and have never had any concerns. The staff are extremely professional and treat our dogs just like their own. They're the best in the Jacksonville area. The front check-in area is clean and smells fine, however, the second that we walked into the area where the animals are kept it smelled putrid. Also there were piles of feces in the play areas that we were shown.

Animal House is unusual in that they are a full service grooming, boarding and exercise facility for animals. I find them outstanding in the grooming area, I love the four groomers who groomed my three Yorkies, and one GoldenDoodle. I have one yorkie in particular who has luxating patella issues and has to be "babied"--my groomer did the job, they connected right away and I believe she is the head groomer. She and Sharkie were meant for each other.

Please adhere to these guidelines to guarantee a secure and enjoyable stay for your beloved pets. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us. Our Bath and Brush service provides a refreshing and rejuvenating experience for your furry companion.

1st time being boarded since I've had him. We are very happy with the groomers and they do a great job. We bring 4 of our dogs to Animal House and they are treated very well and always look gorgeous afterwards. We have a couple of nervous dogs and the groomers are very gentle with them.

We are thrilled to learn that you had a positive experience with us! We can't wait to see you and your fur baby again. Your feline friend will enjoy their personal condo, complete with water, a litter box, and meals as per your instructions. The staff at Animal House are always friendly and helpful. I’ve used them for hoarding for years and have never had any issues, and Michelle does a great job grooming my fur baby. Yes, we are closed on major holidays and have adjusted hours on Christmas eve and New Year’s eve. While our front desk may be closed, rest assured that our wonderful back of house team will be taking great care of our boarding guests throughout the day.

I LOVE this place....I moved here to NC with my English Bulldog Winston from Wisconsin in April and he absolutely loves going. We take advantage of the grooming as well as over night stays. So far everything has just been great experiences. My dog absolutely loves going to daycare at Animal House!

Knowing there was one tragic event, I hope, does not diminish the reputation of the many years of high praise of all the staff at Animal house. I have been going to Animal house for 15 years. My first dog, Charlie, was called by his name after the first visit. When the staff comes to get my dog Henry, they always call him by name, which is warm feeling to my heart. My dog starts jumping and gets excited when we are close to Animal House. Pets are very intuitive of their surroundings and if he was ever mistreated, he would not react that way.

When we asked how staff prevents other pets from coming in contact with it we were told its immediately picked up after an animal eliminates, but we observed piles of it. I just wanted to know if my dog was ok while we were away, especially since his stay with Animal House was the first time hed ever been away from us. Moreover, the report card system is worthless, honestly. I reviewed it and did not get an accurate overview about how my dogs stay was, unfortunately.

FART is also worried that more centrist GOP lawmakers could move to strip Massie, Rep. Chip Roy, and Ralph Norman from the powerful House Rules Committee. In another McCarthy-era concession, Republicans allowed the three conservative lawmakers to serve on the panel responsible for determining how most legislation reaches the floor. In recent weeks, the trio has increasingly used their power to effectively block Johnson from carrying out his agenda.

Happy hour drinks,

“For the wall mural, I had to pick something to bring them into nature and a calming environment,” Lalikian says. Samatha Williams’s Tearoom in the Gatehouse is brimming with vintage charm and elegant accents. Working with Jacqueline Black and Michelle Porreca, Williams brought in a Chinoiserie wall covering to give the space a garden-like atmosphere. They also installed a grass cloth ceiling treatment and sisal rug to add texture. For a bedroom off the nursery, Carmine Sabatella wanted to create a jewel-toned escape.

Outdoor seating,

“I thought, if somebody’s taking care of the baby, they have a space where they can come and feel like it’s a retreat,” Sabatella says. The designer outfitted a door handcrafted in India with a vintage mirror to create a one of a kind headboard and bathed the space in deep emerald green. The glamorous touches continue in the ensuite bath, where Sabatella added a custom mirror-tiled tub that plays off the vintage French tile floor.

Instead of a six-month deadline, TikTok would have roughly nine months, which could be extended by President Joe Biden by 90 days if he determines there’s been progress toward a sale. Also, the bill has now been inserted into a larger foreign aid package, which makes it much harder for lawmakers to oppose the measure. A palette of whites, deep blues, and gold creates an elegant atmosphere in the formal living room, which was designed by Rachel Duarte. The designer established two seating areas within the space, including a cozy gathering spot with chaise longues that flank the original carved marble fireplace.

Designer Ashleigh Miranda focused on juxtaposing technology and earthy elements in her moody media room. “I really wanted to showcase state-of-the-art technology but in a way that was grounded and spoke to our primitive nature.” Cutting-edge tech from Bang & Olufsen, Lutron, and JoshAI is balanced by curvaceous seating and unique art. As the Pasadena Showcase House of Design enters its 59th year, it’s returning to a familiar setting. The Potter Daniels Manor, the English Tudor Revival–style residence that hosted the 1975 and 1996 showcase houses, has been reimagined with 30 new interior and exterior spaces for the 2024 edition, which is now open until May 19.

Hand-painted floors were the jumping-off point for designer Amy Peltier’s soothing primary bedroom design. “It was so much work, but it turned out beautiful.” The firm wanted the space to feel “light and airy and breezy,” and incorporated fabrics and wall coverings by Thibaut in a soft color palette. Peltier and designer Marina Kelly installed an arch to divide the bedroom from the sitting area, breaking up the large space. Designers Frank Slesinski and Serena Brosio collaborated on the charming living room in the Gatehouse. “One of the main things we did was add a window seat, which looks like it should always have been here,” Slesinski says. “Our whole goal with this space was basically to turn the lights on in the room, bring in the garden that’s outside, and kind of have an experience of a breath of fresh air,” Brosio says.

The statement also called for a ceasefire in Gaza, more humanitarian aid to be delivered, and peace talks to begin. "US security aid [to Israel] constitutes a dangerous escalation and aggression against the Palestinian people," Abu Rudeineh added. The House on Saturday passed a key package that provides aid to Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific region, while also addressing GOP legislative priorities, such as sanctions on Iran and a potential ban on TikTok.

A brick-walled patio became a party-ready outdoor kitchen and dining area thanks to Douglas R. Santicola of Outdoor Elegance. Santicola and Monique Wood installed Caesarstone countertops fabricated by Carlito’s Way Stone to create a functional space for outdoor entertaining. Designer Lara Hovanessian packed plenty of bold design elements into the powder room and adjacent lounge. A moody House of Hackney floral wall covering lines the dressing area, which leads to a powder room accented with a Kelly Wearstler’s Graffito II from Walnut Wallpaper. A black-and-white triangular mosaic tile floor by Artistic Tile from Mission Tile West puts a contemporary twist on the classic checkered pattern.

Massie is also not a member of the Freedom Caucus, whose membership is technically secret, but he does support many of the caucus' broader aims. The couple, who have two children, also have a mansion in the hills of Pacific Palisades, which is on the market for $30 million, according to reports. The house was built in Brentwood, a quiet, upscale neighborhood in western LA. The A-list couple now plan to build a 15,000-square-foot farmhouse-style mansion with a pool, The Guardian reported. Architect Craig Ellwood designed the Zimmerman house with Emiel Becsky, and the landscape was designed by Garrett Eckbo, per USModernist Archives.

The room’s coffered ceilings were enhanced with a faux-wood decorative painting by Jhon Ardilla. Designer Rachel Scheff used the home’s spectacular ceiling, woodwork, and stained glass as the inspirations for her fanciful, flora- and fauna-filled foyer. “It was one of my favorite rooms in the house because it was the one that had the most history preserved, and I wanted to really celebrate that,” she told AD PRO. For her Foyer of Enchantment, Scheff installed a custom mural by Hattas Art Studios, a John Richard chandelier dripping with glass leaves, a silk wall covering by Aux Abris, and organic furniture created with Amorph Studio. “I wanted you to feel like you were transported to another time and place,” Scheff says.

“I really feel like the dining room is a forgotten room,” says the designer, who set out to prove how vital the space is to a home. The room is anchored by a Riva 1920 table made with the wood of a 50,000-year-old Kauri tree, which Levine surrounded with seating for 12. Another seating area with views of the garden was designed for more intimate dining, games, or meetings, and it’s illuminated by a Murano glass chandelier.

Thibaut wall coverings and fabrics were used for the walls and windows, and the elegant shagreen-covered vanities are accented with gleaming fixtures by P.E. Videla-Juniel and project manager Cheryl Hardy also installed a striking shower clad in herringbone stone tile. The designers worked with a color palette of Dunn-Edwards paints, and several chose to highlight the brand’s 2024 Color of the Year, a steely blue called Skipping Stones. Nods to Pasadena’s famous peacocks can be found throughout the designs, and many creators fearlessly brought in statement floors, enveloped their spaces with jewel tones, and added texture to ceilings. Others focused on bringing the beauty of the estate’s gardens and views inside with verdant murals, floral fabrics, and nature-inspired lighting.

– Thinking of proposing? Candlelight concerts bring tears no matter the occasion

stuff to do at a friend's house

Because growing old together is one of the greatest gifts life has to offer. Apps like Duolingo and Rosetta Stone have made it easier than ever to start your journey towards learning a new language. But, having someone to study with will make it that much easier (and more fun!). Any language will do, you can choose one that is part of your heritage or one from a country that you plan on visiting together. If you are looking for a unique and cheap night out, how about going to a drive-in movie? They may be more difficult to find these days, but they are a whole lot of fun when you do.

– Get to know Hollywood in old-school style with a classic convertible car tour

With many fabulous things to do in Palm Springs, like exploring the Joshua Tree National Park, it’s a perfect weekend escape. If you’ve satisfied your Hollywood cravings, move on to more laid-back areas like Long Beach or discover the things to do in Santa Barbara (a 1.5-hour drive from Downtown LA). The state of Los Angeles is home to neighborhoods like Beverly Hills, Venice and Downtown LA. If you’re wondering where to stay, here are some of the best (and most famous) hotels to take your pick for the celebrity treatment. Touching down in LA, you’ll arrive at Los Angeles Airport (LAX), which is located on the outskirts of the central city.

You and the little ones can also have fun decorating and painting the car. You no longer have to throw veggie and fruit scraps away, and you can entertain yourself and your kids with veggie stamp art. Vegetable stamping is when you use any and all parts of vegetables and fruit – the leftover scraps, edible parts, and even the inedible ones – to make artwork. It’s a night for fun, giggles and laughs, and making memories.

A garden membership that’ll also get you into some non-local spots

As you walk past water features and fancy eateries, keep an eye out for your favorite celebrities trying to pick up (or set) the latest fashion trends. The Getty Center houses European art up (pre-1900-era) amongst plush green gardens and stunning modern architecture. Discover striking gardens, pristine beaches and island favorite seafood restaurants. Go hiking to admire the landscape and see many extraordinary plants and animals. After enjoying a delicious meal, step outside and listen to the sound of sea lions in the midst of a sublime night. At K1, you can see your results and compare with other drivers.

There’s a grill, an ice cream spot, a café, a pizza spot, and a churro spot. Hit the sandy beach at Venice Beach and enjoy the summer vibe that’s hard to miss here. LA boasts many cool neighborhoods, and this happens to be one of them. It’s vibrant and a bit touristy, will murals adorning its outlines, and people in flowery shirts strolling the Ocean Front walk all day long. Then there are beautiful works of European art at the Art Gallery, and the breathtaking plants at the botanical gardens are divided into several themes.

Treat Yourself to a Spa Night

You can make ice cream in the classic flavors, or you can really put yourself out there and be unique with your flavor pairings. Think cinnamon/basil, sweet potato/cream cheese, and curry/mint. I recently made ice cream from scratch at home for my sister’s birthday and it was a hit. I experimented with different flavors – and best of all, I didn’t even need an ice cream machine. Plus, you don’t often get what you are looking for – in style, theme, or color.

Pick an arcade that serves good food and drink and make an evening of it. To save money, choose matinee performances rather than evening movies, or search “dollar movie theater in [your city or area]” to find very cheap tickets. If you don’t feel like sitting in a movie theater, try a drive-in movie instead. The shared excitement and laughter from trying different rides and attractions of such places can strengthen your friendships and provide a day full of entertainment.

Making friendship bracelets for each other is a unique way to get creative and show your bestie how much you love them. Here is a guide on some different designs for you to test out. If you’re bored, it’s never a bad idea to set some new goals and start working towards them with your bestie. Spend some time researching a new side hustle and enjoy bringing some inspiration and extra cash into your life. If you’re not sure what to do with your bestie and want something new and creative to do together, henna is a cheap and fun option.

If you still have time to spare, check in briefly at the Queen Mary! Exhibits at the aquarium include the Shark Lagoon, Seal and Sea Lion Habitat, the Tropical Pacific Gallery, and the Sea Otter Exhibit. There’s more than just the beach, and you can easily spend a day here with the family sunbathing, eating gourmet food or even catching a free performance if you’re lucky. The area is also home to Abbot Kinney Boulevard, your ultimate shopping and dining destination whenever you’re around. It’s best to explore the area during the day especially if you have kids with you.

Take the kids to Noah’s Ark, an award-winning destination that encourages playing, exploring and making friends. The Skirball Center aims to foster people of all communities and ages to participate in cultural experiences that celebrate hope and discovery. However, if you’re looking for some extra thrill, head to the Shore Break for a seven-story drop! Take three more extreme thrill rides to get the most of your day. Over two million LEGO bricks reconstruct the Big Apple at Legoland California, a wondrous theme park that also boasts a water park and an aquarium. While more oriented towards kids, it’s still one of the most fun things to do in Los Angeles.

Check Stubhub for what sporting events are happening in your area, book some tickets, and take a couple of your friends who share your interests. Try the city’s art museum or the national garden in the suburbs, and learn the stories behind the statues and the historical importance of some buildings. Grab some wax, wicks, fragrances, and containers, and start a new creative endeavor with your friends. Work together with your friends, and create magical recipes, while transforming the kitchen into a fun and creative place. Do this timeless activity with some of your friends, and enjoy the magic of seeing a new release in all its glory on the big screen. Don’t resign yourselves to scrollaxing on your phones, and instead try some of these fun and creative indoor ideas and activities.
